Core Concepts

Organization

Your Organization is your team workspace in ALOT. It holds your assessments, candidate records, members, permissions, and billing settings.

Your selected plan controls feature access and usage limits.

Assessment

An Assessment is the evaluation flow you create for a role. It includes one or more stages and can be reused across candidates.

  • Draft: Not visible to candidates yet.
  • Published: Ready for invites and active candidate sessions.
  • Archived: Closed to new invites while keeping history.

You can define pass marks and optional time limits per stage or overall flow.

Stage

A Stage is one section of an assessment. Candidates complete stages in order.

Common stage types include multiple-choice, written response, coding, video, file upload, and AI interview.

Candidate Session

A Candidate Session is created when a candidate starts an assessment attempt.

  • Status: Invite sent, in progress, completed, expired, or flagged.
  • Progress: Stage-by-stage completion tracking.
  • Outcomes: Scores, pass/fail decisions, and notes.
  • Signals: Proctoring events and integrity markers.

AI Report

For AI interview stages, ALOT generates a structured report with:

  • Overall score and interview summary.
  • Skill-level scoring highlights.
  • Strengths and improvement areas.
